Luca graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at LCCHS before completing a CEGEP program in Social Science with Math. He is now majoring in Pure and Applied Mathematics at Concordia University and hopes to learn more about topology and eventually pursue research into the history of mathematics and how mathematics can be used to understand natural phenomena.
He has three years of tutoring experience and has worked with students through both tutoring organizations and one-on-one support. In high school, Luca also completed 45 hours of community service and created a sustainable and affordable architectural model as his Secondary 5 Personal Project.
Outside of academics and tutoring, Luca enjoys snowboarding during the winter and hiking in warmer weather. He has always loved being in the mountains and enjoys finding ways to spend time outdoors throughout the year.
Luca likes helping students understand new concepts by connecting them to things they already know from what they have learned in class. He also focuses heavily on building confidence in his students' knowledge. After explaining a concept once or twice, Luca encourages students to work through problems on their own. His goal is for students to become comfortable trusting their own understanding rather than relying on someone else to guide them through every step.
