Olivia is currently in her third year of the Bachelor of Education in Kindergarten and Elementary Education at McGill University. She has completed two teaching stages and is now completing her third, allowing her to continue developing practical classroom experience while building the skills needed to support young learners effectively.
Her passion for education was further strengthened through six months of work as an integration aide in an elementary school. This experience gave Olivia the opportunity to support students with different learning needs and confirmed her goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. She has also worked as a summer camp counsellor at a dance camp and later as an assistant dance teacher, giving her additional experience working closely with children in encouraging and engaging environments.
Olivia understands that every student learns differently. During tutoring sessions, she adapts her approach to each student’s individual needs and learning style, incorporating strategies such as visual supports, manipulatives, and hands-on learning when helpful. Her goal is to make learning feel approachable while helping students develop confidence, independence, and a stronger understanding of the material.
Olivia brings a patient, encouraging, and adaptable approach to every tutoring session. She takes the time to understand how each student learns best and adjusts her teaching accordingly, helping students feel comfortable asking questions, working through mistakes, and taking an active role in their learning.
Teaching children is an accomplishment. Getting children excited about learning is an achievement. · Robert John Meehan
What Olivia values most about teaching is seeing the moment when a student realizes that their hard work has paid off. She strives to create those moments by supporting students through challenges, celebrating their progress, and encouraging them to continue setting higher goals for themselves.
Outside of teaching, Olivia has enjoyed dancing for most of her life, exploring styles including ballroom, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, and ballet. She also enjoys discovering new places and food around Montreal and staying connected to her community.
