Star Tutoring is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we protect it, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

Who we are

Star Tutoring is a bilingual tutoring service based in Montreal (Verdun and LaSalle areas), Quebec. We offer in-person and online tutoring, from elementary school to university.

Any question about your personal information may be sent to the person responsible for its protection at Star Tutoring, by email at startutoring04@gmail.com or by phone at 514-476-0296.

Information we collect

We only collect the information you voluntarily provide when filling out one of our forms (booking a session or requesting a consultation):

your name and email address (required);
where applicable: your phone number, postal code, the student's level, grade or year, preferred format, preferred tutor, subjects, and your message.

No payment information is processed by this site. We do not collect any information without your knowledge.

How we use your information

We use your information only to:

respond to your request;
match the student with the right tutor;
schedule, confirm and follow up on sessions;
communicate with you about the service.

We do not use your information for any other purpose, and we never sell or rent it to anyone.

Transfer and service providers

To operate this site, we rely on providers whose servers may be located outside Canada:

Formspree processes our form submissions. Messages you submit pass through this provider, whose servers may be located in the United States. By submitting a form, you consent to this transfer.
Netlify hosts the site (servers may be located in the United States).
Google Fonts provides the typefaces and may log your IP address when they load.

Links to our social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) lead to platforms governed by their own privacy policies.

Cookies

This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. A single cookie, stored locally in your browser, remembers that you have seen our cookie notice. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Retention and security

We keep your information only as long as needed to respond to your request and follow up on the service, after which it is securely destroyed. We take reasonable measures to protect it against loss, theft and unauthorized access.

Your rights

In accordance with Law 25, you have the right to access your information, have it corrected, request its deletion, and withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, write to us at startutoring04@gmail.com. We respond within a maximum of 48 hours.

Complaint

If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec: cai.gouv.qc.ca.

We may update this policy. The date shown at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
